According to Sacrosanctum Concilium (§36, §54, §114), the Council clearly states:
1. The Latin language is to be preserved in the Latin rites, particularly in the Sacred Liturgy, while
vernacular may be used as pastoral adaptation under proper regulation.
2. The faithful are to actively participate in the Sacred Liturgy, including the ability to pray and sing in
Latin where appropriate.
3. Sacred music, particularly Gregorian chant, is to be preserved, reflecting the Church’s tradition.

Furthermore, Canon 212 §2–3 and Canon 214 affirm the faithful’s right to make known their spiritual needs
and to legitimately request participation in rites according to the approved liturgical books. Summorum
Pontificum (2007) reaffirmed that the 1962 Missal of John XXIII was never abrogated and provides for its
pastoral use alongside the Ordinary Form.

Grievance: It has come to my attention that the Traditional Latin Mass has been removed from the regular
schedule at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM, while the Novus Ordo and Spanish Masses occupy these prime times.
This action restricts access for faithful attached to the older liturgical form and contravenes the pastoral
intentions outlined by the Second Vatican Council and reinforced by Summorum Pontificum.

Request: In accordance with the faithful’s rights under Canon Law and the principles of Vatican II:
1. The Traditional Latin Mass (1962 Missal) should be restored at both 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM.
2. Novus Ordo and Spanish Masses should be rescheduled to alternate times that do not conflict with
the faithful’s legitimate access to the Latin Mass.
3. All actions taken should respect the Council’s mandate to preserve the Latin heritage and provide
for active participation of all the faithful.

Canonical basis for recourse: Should these requests not be resolved at the diocesan level, I reserve the
right to pursue hierarchical recourse under Canons 1734–1737, which allows appeals to the Apostolic See
regarding administrative acts that infringe upon the rights of the faithful.

I submit this petition in a spirit of charity, obedience, and fidelity to the Church, seeking the reconciliation
and pastoral care envisioned by Vatican II and maintained by the Church’s universal law. I respectfully
request your urgent attention to this matter.
